The week being what it is gives us Independence Day on a Sunday this year. That means that 45% or HR departments have decided that the preceding Friday should be a holiday and 50% that the following Monday should be. The remaining 5% either went with both or neither, depending on how important they think it is to demonstrate that the "C" suite is being responsible. Thus the BBQ is on Saturday, which is only correct. The usual format will be observed. Coals get lit at about 4:00 amongst ceremonial splendor, and cooking doesn't stop until around 9. Desert usually gets trotted out around 7 or so because some people just can't wait longer than that. If you want to bring something that's great and if you don't that's OK too. There are two grills, one for meat and one exclusively for vegetation. Last time the mushrooms and the mole (that's chocolate, not burrowing mammal) ribs were big hits, but there's always something interesting to be had. We start at 4:00, and go until we're done. Bring yourself, spouse, children, parents, friends, boss you want to impress, ex-boss who's looking for a job, or even your favorite lawyer. I have a couple of new dishes that I want to try out on the assembled and I will throw in several old standards just to make sure there's something for everyone in case the experiments prove unsatisfactory.
