From casey at schaufler-ca.com Sun Mar 14 16:41:53 2010 From: casey at schaufler-ca.com (Casey Schaufler) Date: Sun Mar 14 18:10:16 2010 Subject: [Songfest] Evil Casey's 2010 BBQ #1 Mimosas in March (27th) Message-ID: <4B9D7441.6030407@schaufler-ca.com> The orange tree is laden with fruit, and the best way I know of to use large quantities of oranges is to juice them and throw in some champagne. Once you've done that you need some food to go along and then you need some friends to help with the eating and drinking and what with spring arriving and all it sounds like a BBQ. If the weather doesn't hold up we'll stay inside a eat slightly differently, but I seriously doubt any less. As always, feel free to come when you like and leave when you're done. We'll probably go until 10ish, but you never know when the best food will come off the grill (or out of the oven). If you can let me know you're coming that's great, but don't let not having replied stop you from coming. Please join us for the 31st Annual Vernal Equinox Songfest at the Rudkins? house: When: Saturday March 27, 2010, 8:00 PM til whenever Where: Tom & Jann Rudkin?s 15000 Blackberry Hill Rd. Los Gatos, CA Telephone: 408-395-2629 Bring: Any musical instruments you wish to play, and any friends & family members For those who have never been to a songfest, it's an opportunity for folks to socialize with old friends and meet some new ones; eat, drink and be merry; and sing folksongs, filksongs, Tom Lehrer songs, and much more. We have lots of songbooks available (including _Rise Up Singing_) and hopefully several musicians. Don't worry if you think you can't sing -- neither can many of the rest of us! Apologies for getting this notice out so late, and for conflicting with Casey's BBQ. Hopefully some of you will attend the BBQ in the afternoon and then come to the songfest in the evening. --Tom & Jann From casey at schaufler-ca.com Tue Mar 23 17:33:54 2010 From: casey at schaufler-ca.com (Casey Schaufler) Date: Tue Mar 23 17:51:25 2010 Subject: [Songfest] Reminder - Evil Casey's 2010 BBQ #1 Mimosas in March (27th) In-Reply-To: <4B9D7441.6030407@schaufler-ca.com> References: <4B9D7441.6030407@schaufler-ca.com> Message-ID: <4BA95DF2.4040805@schaufler-ca.com> The weather forecast is favorable for Saturday, so it looks like the grills are going to get a workout. As always, there will be a grill designated for strictly vegetarian use and another for meat, fish and fowl. Bring a sweatshirt for when it cools off or move inside at desert time as you choose. I hope to see everybody this time around. Plus I'm copying some other people whom I'm not sure are on the list in case you haven't received the notice already. This might be the last vernal equinox songfest. We might end this tradition after 30 years and start a new tradition: an annual summer solstice songfest. Who knows? So don't miss this one if you can avoid it!
