I'm struggling with a theme, so how about we just call this one overdue and leave it at that. The usual format will be observed. Coals get lit at about 4:00 amongst ceremonial splendor, and cooking doesn't stop until around 9. Desert usually gets trotted out around 7 or so because some people just can't wait longer than that. If you want to bring something that's great and if you don't that's OK too. There are two grills, one for meat and one exclusively for vegetation. Last time the teriyaki tofu and the tri-tip were big hits, but there's always something interesting to be had. We start at 4:00, and go until we're done. Bring yourself, spouse, children, parents, friends, boss you want to impress, ex-boss who's looking for a job, or even your favorite lawyer. 2078 Louise Lane Los Altos, 94024 650.906.1780 650.965.1392 Directions available on request. From Steve at SJHanna.com Wed May 26 10:16:56 2010 From: Steve at SJHanna.com (Stephen Hanna) Date: Wed May 26 10:22:50 2010 Subject: [Songfest] Special Summer Solstice Songfest Message-ID: Friends, On the off-chance that there will be a summer this year, the Hannas are holding a Special Summer Solstice Songfest on Saturday, June 26. Most of the usual song-fest procedures apply: Bring yourself, your family, your friends, your songbooks, instruments, and some munchies and/or drinks to share. However, there are a couple of changes: 1. We're moving the time up an hour from the traditional times. Come at 7:00, and we'll start singing at 8:00. 2. We are honored to have Dawn Reyen, the assistant conductor and accompanist for Schola Cantorum, as both guest and pianist for this song fest. If you have ever had the pleasure of listening to Dawn play, you know that she can play ANYTHING on the piano. That means we'll get to sing all those songs that really work best with piano accompaniment (such as "The Vatican Rag" or "The Elements"). So, here's the information you need: Event: SPECIAL SUMMER SOLSTICE SONGFEST Date: Saturday, June 26 Time: 7:00 pm, with singing starting at 8:00 Where:Steve and Cassie Hanna's house 10413 Noel Avenue Cupertino Phone: (408) 253-6793 (home); (408) 835-4250 (cell) We hope to see you next month!
